FEARnet sat down with Greg Nicotero of KNB FX group last week to talk about working on genre films, the secrets behind the gore of Hostel, and some insight into creating instant blood! KNB, originally started by FX geniuses, Robert Kurtzman (Wishmaster, The Rage), Howard Berger, and Greg Nicotero, has done special FX and make-up for genre films such as Hostel, Hostel: Part II, Grindhouse, The Hills Have Eyes remake and sequel, and Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning. However, KNB?s expertise not only lies in the blood, guts, gore and splatter of many genre films, as they have also mastered non-genre films such as The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe (The sequel, which they are currently working on), Minority Report, Vanilla Sky, and Spy Kids.
