According to Starplus.com, director Ridley Scott (Hannibal, Gladiator) has decided that it would be a great idea to adapt a film based on the board game Monopoly. It tends to make one wonder how exactly is a movie created around Monopoly? Should I start claiming boardwalk now or should I expect to fight my roommate for the iron? Besides the fact that this is one of the strangest projects and could potentially just be a rumor, Scott is considering actresses such as Scarlett Johansson and Kirsten Dunst to star. Ummmm, there is only one thing left to say?Do Not Pass Go, Do Not Collect Two-Hundred Dollars!

Accoring to Starplus, director Ridley Scott is set to turn the board game Monopoly into a comedy thriller. The Academy award-nominated filmmaker has been promised his pick of young actors for the film, including Scarlett Johansson and Kirsten Dunst, who are being considered for roles.

Hollywood agency William Morris promise Monopoly's manufacturers, Hasbro, the best of the actors they represent to help to make the film into a blockbuster hit. Hasbro wants "sexy young people" for the film in order to attract a teenage audience to the board game.
