Jack Black?s Man-Witch

I love jack Black, I don?t know how everyone else in the world feels, but the man is hysterical! Jack Black is set to star in a new comedy, however there is quite an interesting spin on it. Black will play a school teacher that finds out he has witch-like powers and is persuaded to attend a school for witches. However, upon his arrival he discovers that all his fellow classmates are female. Man-Witch is set to be directed by Todd Phillips and was penned by Jay Reiss.

According to varitey.com, Jack Black and Todd Phillips are teaming for the first time on Warner Bros. laffer Man-Witch. Duo are developing for Black to star and Phillips to direct.

In the comedy, Black will play a schoolteacher who suddenly discovers he has witchlike abilities. Taken in by a coven, he is persuaded to attend a school for witches, only to discover that his classmates are all girls.

Jay Reiss, currently starring on Broadway in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, is penning the script based on a pitch by Josh Stolberg and Bob Florsheim.

Original Film's Neal Moritz and Phillips are producing; Scott Budnick exec produces for the Todd Phillips Co. and Ori Marmur for Original Film.

Later this year, Black will be seen in Noah Baumbach's Margot at the Wedding and Michel Gondry's Be Kind Rewind. He's also voicing the lead in DreamWorks Animation toon "Kung Fu Panda" and is set to star in Year One, a comedy Judd Apatow is producing for Columbia.

Among other directing projects, Phillips is in pre-production on "Men" for Warners and is developing Old School Dos for DreamWorks. Producing projects include "Psycho Funky Chimp" at Paramount.

Reiss also penned the screenplay Lonny the Great, which is set up at Warners.
