FEARnet is going against conventional vampire wisdom by inviting a host of the legendary bloodsuckers into its house.
In conjuction with Ghost House Pictures, the horror website/VOD provider is prepping "30 Days of Night: Blood Trails," a series of seven three-to-five minute short films based on IDW's "30 Days of Night" horror graphic novels by Steve Niles and Ben Templesmith.
The shorts follow the most recent incarnation of the comic book series, in which the characters find themselves beset by vampires in New Orleans. Ghost House, which produced the "30 Days" feature film for Columbia, has worked with FEARnet on this type of project before: last month's "Devil's Trade" followed the same format. "Devil's Trade" writer Ben Ketai will also write the scripts for "Blood Trails," with Niles as creative consultant.
The shorts will premiere on the www.fearnet.com website and the Comcast VOD channel on September 13th, a little over six weeks before the feature film is set to open on Oct. 19. FEARnet is a joint venture between Comcast, Sony Pictures Television, and Lionsgate.
