Sommers for 'Joe'

Stephen Sommers (Van Helsing, The Mummy series) has been brought on to direct the finally realized G.I. Joe live action film. Talks have been circulating for a long time now about getting this project into motion, and Paramount Pictures has finally gotten the ball rolling.
Apparently the film will focus on the most popular era for G.I. Joe, the eighties. It will see the Joes battling the terrorist group Cobra, and apparently Destro, Zartan, and the Dreadnoks will be in the film. Yes, you now have permission to flip out.
