Gibson, Allen to ride 'Death Race'

Tyrese Gibson, lover of all films car related (2 Fast 2 Furious, Transformers) is set to star in another diesel burning adventure, Death Race 3000, along side Jason Statham and Joan Allen. Director Paul W.S. Anderson announced that the film will be a faithful remake of the cult classic, Death Race 2000, that involved a cross country race where contestents were awarded points for killing pedestrians. I know this is probably going to be another ridiculous remake, but Anderson has delivered some of my all time guilty pleasures. His credits include: Resident Evil, AVP: Alien Vs. Predator, one of my favorite sci-fi thrillers, Event Horizon and, perhaps most notably, the unappreciated masterpiece, Mortal Kombat.
