Maguire Ditches Webbing for Robots

Tobey Maguire, your friendly neighborhood Spiderman, is planning to produce, through his production company Maguire Entertainment, a live action adaptation of the famed anime franchise Robotech. Maguire is also eyeing the lead role for the series, which originally saw a futuristic Earth that used technology from a crashed alien spaceship to create giant robots.
Maguire explains that they are excited to create a cinematic version of Robotech, stating that "There is a rich mythology that will be a great foundation for a sophisticated, smart and entertaining film."
