McCormick Moving to ?Stepfather?

Screen Gems has attached director Nelson McCormick to their remake of the 1987 film The Stepfather. McCormick recently wrapped shooting on Screen Gems? Prom Night. The original film was about a teenager who finds out that his stepfather is a serial killer. No word on how close to the original this remake will be, but it will most likely attempt to modernize the screenplay. In a time where more and more families are separated, this film could, if done right, become a poignant and truly scary movie.
