Fox landed the sci-fi spec script from JJ Abrams that had all the networks fluttering about. The television series, to be titled Fringe, was written by Abrams and the writing team of Kurtzman and Orci, who we mentioned were working on a script for Transformers 2 here.
Though no solid details have been released, sources are saying that the price of the pilot will be right in the price range of Abrams last big hit, Lost, which capped in at $10 million. Fringe is being produced with Warner Bros. TV and Abrams? own prod company, Bad Robot. The series focuses on a female FBI agent who has to contend with a mysterious phenomena, as she also must work together with a scientist in an insane asylum, who may be responsible for the phenomenon. It sounds pretty cut and dry now, but knowing Abrams this could be the most confusing, self referential television show ever.
