From Variety
Tobe Hooper (director of the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre) is set to direct an adaptation of Stephen King?s novel, From a Buick 8. The adaptation was written by actor/writer Johnathon Schaech (who wrote the ?The Washingtonians? episode of Masters of Horror, and stars in the upcoming Prom Night) and Richard Chizmar (co-writer of ?Washingtonians?, and publisher and editor of Cemetery Dance, arguably America?s leading horror short story magazine). The story centers on a strange Buick kept in the custody of State Troopers. When a trooper mysteriously dies, his son becomes obsessed with the car. Hooper claims that this will not be a typical horror film, and he and the producers (including one of King?s most frequent collaborators, Masters of Horror creator Mick Garris) claim there will be many interesting and intricate layers in the film. Here?s hoping!
