All right ghoulies, this just in. We?ve got the breakdown on the newest crop of horror films coming out from Tartan Video this October. Two new Asian horror releases, one a four disc trilogy of high school ghostly terror, and the other about a damned apartment.
Tartan Asia Extreme?s Ghost School Trilogy
Available on DVD October ninth is the Ghost School Trilogy, a trilogy of films that take place in Korean high schools. The first film, Whispering Corridors, starts with a teacher found dead of an apparent suicide in an all girl high school. Strange things begin to happen, and as more and more people die, the memories of death stir the ghosts within. The second film in the trilogy, Memento Mori, is about a student who finds a diary about a secret romance, and when one of the two involved in that romance dies from apparent suicide, ghosts again begin to resurface. The final film in the trilogy, The Wishing Stairs, is about a legend about a stairwell that can grant wishes, but the wishes have consequences. When these films debuted they sent shockwaves through Korea, as they criticized the strict Korean high school system. These films will come in a four disc set, in Korean with English and Spanish subtitles.
Tartan Asia Extreme?s Apartment 1303
In stores on DVD October 23rd comes the Japanese supernatural horror film Apartment 1303. The film is about a young woman who moves into her first apartment. To celebrate, she invites her friends over. Soon she begins to act strangely, and eventually throws herself from her balcony.
