FEARnet had the opportunity to talk with Writer/Producer/Director Sam Raimi in Beverly Hills, we?ll have a video interview up for you guys soon. Raimi spoke with us about how he came across and developed 30 Days of Night, and also spoke a bit about the Vampire folklore, and which rules they were and were not breaking with regards to 30 Days, he then added that he really had little say in what stayed and went, seeing as he was just the producer, and not the director. He also spoke about how he balances pleasing comic fans, while still making a movie interesting to a broader audience. He spoke about what?s on tap for Ghost House Pictures (including three new films on the slate), why an American is directing Grudge 3, and gave us some plot details about the upcoming Monkey?s Paw, which has yet to find a director, but Raimi wants to start shooting this winter. Also, perhaps most interesting, is the fact that Raimi made it clear that he is attached to nothing as a director right now (which may mean not even Spider-Man 4), and when we spoke with him about writing, directing, and producing, he explained that he is really enjoying being a producer, and learning a lot from all of the directors he?s producing. He also talked about an Evil Dead remake, and how nothing is really solid yet. So be sure to check out the video interview to hear all of this and more, coming soon!
