Kirschner Makes ?Lio? Real

Universal Press Syndicate and David Kirschner have struck up a deal to adapt the dark comic strip Lio (launched in 2006 to much popular acclaim) into a live-action film. Kirschner has produced a wide range of films, from Curious George to the Child?s Play franchise. Lio follows a spike-haired child with such strange friends as a giant squid and the Grim Reaper. Kirschner remarks, ?I've always had an affinity for characters like the Addams Family and Edward Scissorhands, who are seemingly dark but humorous and thoughtful at the same time." Hey, if this comic can work on screen, why can?t some other great little ones, like Red Meat?!
