Butler Leaves ?New York?

Gerard Butler (300) was all set to turn in his crimson cape for tattered post-apocalyptic leather, but alas, it shall not be. Butler, who quickly signed a deal to play Snake Plissken in a remake of Escape From New York, has dropped out of the piece citing creative differences. In his wake, the studio has hired Jonathan Mostow to rewrite the script, with an option to direct. With this drop out and the writer?s strike looming, I wouldn?t expect this flick to hit theaters anytime soon.
