A couple of weeks ago we mentioned a new film in the works called The New Daughter, and now Variety has a smallish update on the film. Apparently New Line has acquired the rights to the flick and shooting will start in early 2008, with Luiso Berdejo directing. The film is based off of a short story by John Connolly, and concerns a father who moves with his two children after a nasty divorce. When his daughter begins to act strangely, the father suspects the nearby burial mound as the culprit. I kind of love the fact that the father instantly jumps to the burial ground as the suspect for his daughter?s strange behavior, and not the nasty divorce and the fact that he?s uprooted his family.
