Next week gets better. Trust me.
Silent Night, Deadly Night -- Yep, that cheesy seasonal slasher flick that caused so much uproar back in 1984 ... is back! Apparently uncut and uncensored, which is nice, plus since the package comes from Anchor Bay, you can probably expect a little extra coal in the stocking.
Bikini Bloodbath -- Debbie Rochon stars in a low-budget horror-comedy that aims to poke some fun at the slasher conventions of old. Chintzy and broad, but actually kinda funny.
Undead or Alive -- James Denton and Chris Kattan star in a horror western directed by one of the South Park writers. Oh c'mon, that sounds kind of fun.
Masters of Horror: The V Word -- The series continues to wind down, this time the story comes from director Ernest Dickerson and screenwriter Mick Garris, also known as the guy who produced the whole show. (The "V" word is, you guessed it, "vampire.")
Blood Descendants -- Is it just me, or are we running out of words to follow "blood" in our movie titles? The flick has a 189-word synopsis over at IMDb, and still I can't figure out what it's about.
Hack! -- A slasher flick about some people making a slasher flick. At least it's got William Forsythe. That always helps. It also features Burt Young as "Bates," Juliet Landau as "Mary Shelley King," Kane Hodder as "Mr. Carpenter," and Lochyln Munro as "Sheriff Radley." Just so you know what you're in for, in-joke fans.
Some Asian imports this week: The creepy-sounding Suffocation, a big collection of the Kadokawa Tales of Terror shorts, and the so-so sequel Evil Dead Trap 2.
Also: Something called Footsteps and a Sci-Fi Channel alien invasion piece called Threshold. Bet it's awesome.
Special Note: It's not a horror movie, but today you can get that brand-new, ultra-definitive, mega-stacked Blade Runner set. Just a tip.
