TheOneRing.Net reported today that Peter Jackson has settled his differences with New Line Cinema and has been confirmed to executive produce The Hobbit, the prequel to the The Lord of the Rings trilogy. That?s right, the only man who could really do the job justice has signed on. Apparently the film will be broken into two installments, to be shot simultaneously and released one year apart. Filming is set for some time in 2009, and they?re eying a 2010 release date for the first film, with the second following in 2011. Well, at least now we won?t have to fear hearing scoffs, guffaws, and ?Jackson could have done it better?s when we go see this flick.
