2013 was an interesting year for games, particularly in its delivery of solid, compelling narratives. While the landscape has been full of sequels and spiritual successors (not a new trend), there has been no lack of deep storylines to scratch the more intellectual itch of gamers everywhere.

Typing of the Dead: Overkill uses the Playstation 3 “Director’s Cut” of the game as its foundation, so you get the extra-offensive content and levels that version featured, as well as the graphical overhaul that gave that version an aesthetic leg-up over its Wii predecessor.

Seeing the opportunity to cash in some extra licensing monies off of its pugnacious prequel, the keyholders at WB Games sought out developer Armature Studios to create Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate, a sequel to the prequel that would fit well within the limited hardware of portable consoles, in this case the Playstation Vita and Nintendo 3DS.
