The weather outside is frightful. In honor of this frosty time o' year, let's come in outta the cold, thaw out by a nice fire, and get the blood pumpin' with some bone-chilling horror films. I surveyed over five billion people, and using an equation only the world’s top scientists can comprehend, I arrived at the following list of the top fifteen wintery films that use snow, ice, and/or plummeting temperatures to ramp up the atmosphere, peril, and/or terror. They are listed in order of release.

Last month, Dark Sky Films and XYZ Films announced the production of an historic film: Xx, the first horror anthology written and directed entirely by women. Filmmaker Jovanka Vuckovic is one of the directors on this trail-blazing film - and she's in good company.

One of my primary tasks last month was creating a "lookbook" for a film project I currently have in development. I've noticed that making a lookbook to lure investors or production companies to a film project has become more common in recent years.

I always intend to take a lot of time off around Halloween, as it is indeed the best holiday on the calendar. Sadly, year after year, the workload simply refuses to let up, and I find myself taking only a fraction of the time off I'd intended. In addition to other Halloween antics, I always plan to wallow in a sea of horror films throughout October, yet each year I seem to only find time to enjoy a portion of the fright flicks on my list.
