Who better to raise money for a breast cancer charity than girls who tend to flaunt their breasts? Nope, not porn starlets, but horror starlets. “You can’t love horror without loving boobies. We do what we can to keep these things in action.” That would be starlet Carlee Baker, who was in Wicked Lane and The Woman.

Carlee is just one of the lovely ladies on the Horror Starlets bowling team, part of the Bowling for Boobies charity league whose proceeds benefit women in Los Angeles suffering from breast cancer. Started by Sean Decker of Dread Central, this team of scream queens... well, they bowl for boobies. “We are doing some really horrible bowling, but some really awesome fundraising,” Carlee enthuses. “We can’t bowl worth a crap,” warns Natalie Victoria (DeadHeads). “We just really hope to raise some money.”

Despite being for charity, it has not been easy for the Horror Starlets. “It sucks that you still have the stereotypes that what we do is still ‘out there’ or ‘demeaning,” says Allison Kyler (ChromeSkull: Laid to Rest 2). “We have not been embraced super-warmly by a lot of the other teams because we are hot chicks with our boobs out,” admits Carlee. “But I like to think they are starting to warm to us because we are in this for the right reasons. We rival the best in terms of fundraising.”

Despite the tough exterior and preconceived notions, a charity team made up of horror actresses is not so strange. “Horror people are the most kick-ass group of people you could ever meet. We are super cool and so supportive of each other,” Carlee says. “The horror community is small and tight-knit,” says Allison. “The Busted Foundation works with local women. You know where your money is going. It has that same, tight-knit feeling.”

This year’s Los Angeles Bowling for Boobies will take place on October 21st at Jillian’s at Universal City Walk. The other ladies on the Hollywood Starlets team include Brooke Lewis (Slime City Massacre), Cerina Vincent (Cabin Fever), Ashlynn Yennie (The Human Centipede), Sarah Butler (I Spit on Your Grave), Barbara Nedeljakova (Hostel), and Kristina Klebe (Halloween). You can buy tickets to watch the ladies bowl, or donate money and “sponsor” a game or two.
