Talk about America the beautiful… Last weekend I caught up with curvy America Olivo at the DVD premiere party for Bitch Slap, in which the Friday the 13th star plays a kick-ass lesbian thief named Camero (and really, is there a finer name for a kick-ass lesbian thief?). I'll have more on the premiere party later this week. But for now I want to share with you Olivo's thoughts on her role in Circle, a new thriller about a serial killer returning to his childhood home, only to find a group of -- yep, you guessed it -- pretty young people there. In Circle, Olivo plays a role quite different from her turn in Bitch Slap. Find out what she had to say about it after the jump.
"My role," says Olivo, "is basically a South Beach Miami girl who joins this team of college students who are studying a psycho killer. We go on an adventure to the killer's home. He's out on the loose. I don't think we know that at the time… I just tag along because my boyfriend's a part of the research group. I'm the obnoxious, I-shouldn't-be-here character. I have a Cuban accent and I'm not having it, the research thing. I'm the party girl of the group. I'm sort of the comic relief of it.
"But there's a lot of really interesting actors – Jason Thompson and Silas Weir Mitchell from Prison Break. We play fantastic roles, and it's a really interesting film. A really great thriller – less horror, more thriller. The role isn't as developed as [as in Bitch Slap]. It's more an ensemble cast."
Wondering what Olivo's greatest fear could be?
"My greatest fear in real life," she tells me, "is being abducted by aliens that will impregnate me and then steal my baby at some point in the middle of the night."
God Bless America.
