Last night I had the pleasure of chatting with horror auteur Stuart Gordon after a performance of his new Re-Animator: The Musical. I'll have my review of the play, as well as my interview with Gordon (pictured above with original Re-Animator star Jeffrey Combs) up soon. But for now, I wanted to share a few of Gordon's words regarding what could be his next project, directing the legendary Dan O'Bannon's script for The Men. Read what Gordon had to say about potentially the coolest collaboration since the Reese's Peanut Butter Cup after the jump.

Here's what Gordon told me...

"I'm working on a project. Diane O'Bannon is here tonight, Dan O'Bannon's widow. I'm working with her and Brian Yuzna on a script by Dan called The Men. Which is about a young woman who discovers Earth was conquered by aliens half a million years ago, and that they're still here.

"We're in the process now of – I guess I would call it pre-pre-production. Early casting.

"I was friends with Dan and I was always trying to get him to give me a chance to do it. A couple of times we came close, but it just unfortunately never happened. So it would be wonderful if we could finally get that movie made.

"It would be great. It would be very funny and it's also scary as hell. So it's a great combo. Dan O'Bannon was the best."
