Exclusive: Steve Niles' Cal McDonald Returns with a Vengeance
At last weekend's WonderCon 2011 in San Francisco I caught up with Dark Horse editor Scott Allie, and learned a little about the comic publisher's upcoming horror plans. The biggest, I discovered, revolves around Steve Niles' hardboiled hero Cal McDonald. Find out what Allie told me after the jump.
"Criminal Macabre, Steve Niles' long-running series about Cal MacDonald the occult detective is coming back," said Allie. "We're doing two omnibuses. three hundred to three hundred and fifty page books collecting everything that we'd done previously, plus the little bit that had been done at other publishers, in two big omnibus books."
"Then we've got a Goon/Cal crossover coming in June. That'll be followed by a Cal one-shot that will really drastically upset things and change the status quo for Cal. And then after that Cal will continue as a serialized thing in Dark Horse Presents."
