Playstation-exclusive devs Ready at Dawn (God of War: Chains of Olympus) have released a trailer for their new PS4-exclusive IP The Order: 1886, which mixes together alternate history with bleak horror.

The trailer from Joystiq gives us a brief history lesson on the organization, which fights against the subhuman Half-Breeds over the centuries, all the way up through England’s industrial revolution.  The game blends a more reality-grounded steampunk aesthetic that the developer has dubbed “Neo-Victorian” with third-person horror action that looks pleasantly reminiscent of Gears of War or Resident Evil 4.

There is also a pretty sizable info-dump video from Access Playstation that goes over quite a bit of what Ready at Dawn is hoping to do with this new IP, as well as some pretty jaw-dropping videos that show just how seamless everything looks between gameplay and cutscenes.

The Order: 1886 will be released in 2014 on the Playstation 4.
