In the "no surprises here" category, ABC has picked up new supernatural tale 666 Park Ave., and canceled Oren Peli's low-rated found-footage flop, The River. Hit the jump for more.
I'm a little disappointed that The River was canceled. It had its moments of crap-itude, but I thought it could go someplace really great. 666 Park Ave. was an early favorite to be picked up to series. The supernatural tale follows a couple who move into a beautiful, historic apartment building in Manhattan, and discover it is inhabited by ghosts, witches, and other scary secrets. 666 Park Ave. stars former Lost castaway Terry O'Quinn.
Also picked up to series is Zero Hour. It remains to be seen if this show will be genre-related. All I've heard is that it is about the editor of a skeptic's magazine who becomes embroiled in "one of the biggest conspiracies of all time." Now, when I hear "conspiracy," I hear "aliens." We shall see what they mean soon enough.
