Adrien Brody's taking his no-bullshit Predators persona a step forward. He's suing producers to stop the DVD release of Giallo, the latest Dario Argento film, in which he stars. The DVD was supposed to be released today. Full details after the jump.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Brody's suit claims that his $640,000 fee was never put in an escrow account, to be released upon completion of the film. When he found this out during the first week of shooting, producers swore that new funding was secured. Apparently the producers are to blame for the halt of the DVD release. When Brody found out about the missing funds, the producers signed an agreement with Brody that he has "absolute right to withhold consent to the use of his likeness in the Picture" until he was paid. Totally reasonable, right? Brody just wants his paycheck. The crummy part is that Brody wants a permanent injunction against the release of the film, in addition to his fee and breach-of-contract money. Someone pay the guy so we can see Argento's movie!
