Ever want to round up your posse of online filmmaking friends and create the first feature film developed entirely via internet? Well, you might just be a little bit too late. After Dark and massify.com have recently teamed up to do that very thing, allowing horror fanatics, filmmakers and all other creative souls to take part in this innovative challenge! Through the newly launched massify.com, one filmmaker will act as producer, working with four actors, while all aspiring filmmakers can take part in pitching ideas and auditioning for roles as well as creating posters or music for the film. The project will include a phase in which the best horror ideas will be narrowed down to one for scriptwriting. Then all horror actor hopefuls can audition, and the filmmaking process with continue as if it were taking place in a Hollywood lot! But the film won’t take place ENTIRELY online—in 2008, it will be released as part of After Dark Films’ 8 Films to Die For in theaters!
“The contest will offer fans a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to bring the next generation of horror film to the screen,” said After Dark Films CEO Courtney Solomon. “We are confident that in the minds of passionate fans and young filmmakers, the next great horror idea is being dreamt up right now, and eagerly anticipate the opportunity to turn one inspired idea into a feature horror film in a way that has never been done before.”
