According to the Bloodstock site, the four-day, four-stage fest (August 9th through 12th at Catton Hall, Derbyshire) is Cooper's only scheduled UK festival appearance in 2012, and will follow his extensive promotional tour for Welcome 2 My Nightmare – this year's smash sequel to his most acclaimed classic album (check out our review here).

Festival booker Vicky Gregory expressed excitement in securing the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer for the top festival spot: "As Bloodstock organizers, but more importantly huge fans of Alice Cooper, we are thrilled to have such an iconic artist close proceedings on Sunday night," she stated. "We have been after Alice for a number of years and are extremely excited to see him grace the Ronnie James Dio stage and guarantee this will be a performance not to be missed."

The site also indicated that two more high-profile headliners would be announced soon, as well as over one hundred other artists from around the world. So far, they've locked in Dimmu Borgir (billed as "special guests"), as well as Hatebreed, Anvil, Watain, Corrosion of Conformity, Paradise Lost, Orange Goblin and Anaal Nathrakh.
