AMC to Air 'The Walking Dead' in Black and White

The Walking Dead Magazine - AMC re-airing in black and whiteIn an interesting move, AMC will re-broadcast Season One and half of Season Two of The Walking Dead in black and white, beginning on Valentine’s Day. The re-broadcast will kick off with first two episodes starting with the 90 minute premiere at 6:30pm.

Why black and white? Showrunner Glen Mazzara retweeted a fan’s picture from what looks like The Walking Dead Magazine, which explains AMC’s reasoning. In an article Black and White and Dead All Over TWDM writes, “Giving the series a Universal Monsters feel as well as mimicking the artistic style of the comic, this new way of enjoying the tv show has been fully endorsed by The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman and should prove very popular with fans of the comic book."

I would also hazard a guess that AMC was thinking about Night of the Living Dead when they came up with this idea.
