Behemoth Debut First Track from 'Evangelion'

Poland’s blackened death metal overlords Behemoth have now posted the first single from their upcoming ninth studio album Evangelion on their official MySpace, and it should come as no surprise that the new track is face-rippingly evil. The band has also unveiled a few more sweet, meaty updates, so jump on down and get a taste of ultimate darkness!

Frontman and songwriter Adam “Nergal” Darski waxed poetic about the new single on the band’s blog: “Whilst listening to the first demo versions of this track I had an irresistible feeling that every single tone is filled with overwhelming spirit of Dionysus,” he mused. “Dionysian rave focuses entirely on here and now, experiential knowledge, intuition and passion. All of these are essential factors or components of any form of art.”

“Ov Fire and the Void” heralds the arrival of the new CD, which is scheduled to reach North American shores on August 11th through Metal Blade Records. Evangelion was recorded in Radio Gdansk studio, and is now fully mixed under the guiding hand of Colin Richardson (who has worked with metal icons Napalm Death, Slipknot and Machine Head).

Behemoth will be promoting the new album this summer at the Rockstar Energy Mayhem Festival (which his headlined by Marilyn Manson and Slayer), playing the Hot Topic stage with Cannibal Corpse, The Black Dahlia Murder, Job for a Cowboy and Whitechapel.

You can hear the new track right now at www.myspace.com/behemoth.
