Many of the strange “eyewitness accounts” on the Bioshock 2 viral site somethinginthesea.com hinted at a sort of Big Daddy 2.0: a helmeted creature described as being “thin” and able to move “with incredible speed,” who were kidnapping the young girls of coastal towns.
No, it’s not Aqua-Roman Polanski. According to the cover of the April 2009 issue of Game Informer, it’s the Big Sister, an obviously female counterpart to Bioshock’s iconic Big Daddy. However, it looks like they’re going to be a bigger challenge to deal with, as the Little Sisters are now protected in a cage on their backs (complete with little pink bows…creepy), as well as that aforementioned speed. The damage-soaking of a Big Daddy mixed with the speed of a Splicer? Yeesh! The upcoming issue also reveals the sequel’s return to Rapture (would Bioshock work in any other setting?) as well as other new details and concept art.
