If you're a follower of the incredible fan-made poster art that is currently dominating the pop-culture landscape, then you're no doubt familiar with the name Laurent Durieux. Hailing from Belgium, the 42-year-old artist has in the past whipped up incredible posters for films like Jaws, King Kong and the Universal Monster movies, all of which were for the prestigious Austin, Texas art gallery Mondo. Yesterday, Mondo made the exciting announcement that they're giving Durieux his very own solo show, a celebration of his incredible artwork that is set to take place next year.
Beginning on February 7th and running through March 1st, the exhibit will showcase brand new poster art from one of the best artists in the game, and we've got some sneak peeks of some of that art for you today. Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds and the 1956 sci-fi classic Forbidden Planet are just two of the films that will be featured in the show, and you'll find Durieux's vibrant and stunning renditions of their poster art below!
