If you recall my article praising Italian electro-industrial unit Bahntier (if not, go check it out... I'll wait), you already know this talented outfit is more than worthy to join the ranks of artists like Skinny Puppy in pushing the boundaries of chilling, beat-driven experimental tunes. Bahntier founder Stefano Rossello recently joined forces with Black Sun Productions – created by former members of pioneering industrial band Coil – whose projects have involved artists from Lydia Lunch to Alien designer H.R. Giger. The result of this team-up is a bizarre new sonic experiment entitled ENOERAEW.
As they declare on their official site: “Leave all hesitation, all hope abandon and enter in...”
Black Sun Productions – the Switzerland-based duo of Massimo and Pierce – have collaborated with Rossello and Bahntier several times in the past, but ENOERAEW is their first full-length album as a trio. The tracks were shaped over a period of three years, compiled and mixed this year in the group's Swiss and Italian studios. The end product is described as a “poetic journey into the realms of Ritual Music,” and explores themes of love, desire, magic and death. Tracks include Veneration X 2009, Uncle Billy (His Sperm Mix), Do Not Stand at My Grave and Weep, and a cover of Virgin Prunes' Sweet Home Under White Clouds.
ENOERAEW is scheduled for release Nov. 29th through Rustblade Records in standard, limited and deluxe editions (with bonus DVD), all featuring sexy artwork from Tina Cassati and Alessia Catanuto. All are available for pre-order at the Rustblade store,so check 'em out.
