Known the world over for haunting artwork painted in his own blood, surrealist painter and award-winning tattoo artist Vincent Castiglia has announced that he will be offering new hand-painted/embellished Giclée prints of his work for the first time.
While Castiglia is already well regarded in the art world (his latest gallery showing at Sacred Gallery NYC made worldwide news), his fame has increased greatly over the last couple of years among the horror and extreme-music communities. He won the 2012 award for “Tattoo Artist of the Year” from ThisisHorror.co.uk, and he is the first American artist to receive a solo exhibition invitation from H.R. Giger (designer of the original Alien) in the history of the Giger Museum. He also designed the official poster for the MTV-produced horror film Savage County, and the album art for Eparistera Daimones, the 2010 debut album from Triptykon (founded by Celtic Frost's Tom Gabriel Fischer).
Three of Castiglia's celebrated works will be available as prints:
The Sleep: 24" x 32" Hand-painted, Limited Edition of 16 – $900
Laura: 16" x 24" – $800
Feeding: 16" x 24" Hand-painted, Limited Edition of 16 – $800
Each signed & numbered museum-quality print is unique, printed on Somerset Velvet paper, using a Canon IPF 9100 with Lucia pigmented inks. Prints of The Sleep and/or Laura are available for purchase exclusively through www.acabinetofcuriosities.co.uk. Prints of Feeding are available directly through www.vincentcastiglia.com.
