As we've talked about ad nauseam here on FEARNET over the course of the last several months, Warner Bros./Legendary Pictures will be unleashing Godzilla in theaters on May 16th, which is quite frankly a geek event of epic proportions. I think we speak for all geeks when we say that we absolutely cannot wait to see Godzilla once again go on a city-destroying, fire-breathing rampage, and today comes the incredibly good news that we don't have to wait as long as we originally thought...
Releasing on May 7th is Legendary Pictures' graphic novel Godzilla: Awakening, which will give us an early sneak peek at the movie, one week before the big guy stomps his way back into theaters. Above is the cover art from acclaimed artist Arthur Adams, which was just unveiled this morning, and the 80-page graphic novel that will be found when you peel back that awesome art is co-written by Max Borenstein, who wrote the screenplay for the upcoming film.
Set decades before Godzilla 2014, Godzilla: Awakening serves as a prequel story and paves the way for the movie, making it perfect reading for those who simply cannot wait until May 16th.
