My Playstation Eye has been virtually unused, doing little more than burning my retinas with its ice-blue LED and drawing voltage from my PS3. It’s provided some entertainment with Move-enabled titles (Oh House of the Dead: Overkill DC, how I love thee), but it hasn’t done much else. The Playstation Eye is going to be a fixture on the Playstation 4 as well, but it’s got an interesting role to play in the just-announced Daylight.
According to a post from Joystiq, Daylight is a psychological horror game powered by Unreal Engine 4, and it uses the Playstation Eye in a novel fashion: the Eye will take a snapshot of your horrified mug at the exact moment that scares happen, which you could then presumably share with friends or upload to your online dating profile to derail any prospects of getting laid.
The game also has the input of Jessica Chobot, an on-camera host for IGN who is lending her writing skills and vocal chords to the game, which is being developed by Zombie Studios.
Daylight is due out in 2014 on the Playstation 4.
