FX Network has announced that they are working on their own serial killer project - and it sounds an awful lot like Showtime's Dexter. The FX project, Heartsick, is also based on a book series (written by Chelsea Cain) and involves a serial killer who is in a relationship with a police detective. Hit the jump, we'll give you the twist.
So the "twist" is that the serial killer is a female, named Gretchen Lowell. Detective Sheridan knows that Gretchen is a serial killer - she kidnapped him, tortured him for over a week, and let him go. Female serial killers are rare in literature and even rarer in real life. Normally they are portrayed as "angels of death" or "black widows" - a female killer with a torture angle is very rare indeed.
Heartsick is being written by Mikko Alanne (5 Days of War) and produced by Geyer Kosinski (Magic City).
