It's hard not to love Joss Whedon. Even those unfortunate few unfamiliar with the man's work would be impressed by a guy who, in the midst of production on the biggest superhero movie of all time (that's next summer's The Avengers, in case you really have been living under a rock), takes the time to brave the teeming hordes of Comic-Con 2011 just to spend time with fans. Whedon's solo panel was one of the most popular at this year's con, and the genre creator also signed for over an hour at the Dark Horse booth on Saturday. After his signing, Whedon hung out at for a little while to chat with me about the upcoming Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Season 9 and Angel and Faith comics, as well as his plans for the long-awaited horror epic Cabin in the Woods. After the jump, check out my exclusive video interview with the man whose name has become synonymous with everything we love about Comic-Con.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Season 9 debuts on September 14. Angel and Faith premieres in August.
Here's Dark Horse's official description of Season 9:
Season 8 ended with a bang when Buffy cut the world off from the hell dimensions and all supernatural influence. Great, right? Except Buffy has left her best friend, Willow, powerless, and ended the long line of vampire slayers, leaving her hated by the hundreds of girls who recently stood behind her. Newly relocated to San Francisco, Buffy can count on a fresh start, and focus on what she's good at--slaying. Written by creator Joss Whedon, with Andrew Chambliss of the CW's The Vampire Diaries!
