Friday the 13th, for horror fans, is kind of like a dry-run for Halloween. It's a smaller "holiday" and really, only "celebrated" by true horror fans. There are a couple of cool Los Angeles events going on this weekend. We round them up after the jump.
The Nuart Theater will be screening the original Final Destination at midnight, with writer and series creator Jeffrey Reddick in attendance.
Cinefamily at the Silent Movie Theater will be screening Jason X with writer Todd Farmer in attendance.
Monsterpalooza, the convention of special effects makeup artists, is going on all weekend long in Burbank. Some of the guests scheduled to attend include makeup artists Ve Neill and Michael Westmore; director Tom Holland; actor Chris Sarandon, director John Landis, scream queens Brinke Stevens and Linnea Quigley, and more.
Prefer a quiet evening at home? Don't forget to enter FEARnet's Friday the 13th Sweepstakes. Winners will receive a new TV, pretty much every Friday the 13th movie ever made, FEARnet swag, and more.
