It's been a long wait, but Florida's XXX-rated cyber-rock powerhouse Genitorturers are nearly ready to unleash their next studio album Blackheart Revolution this fall. The electro-infused combo has built a solid cult following on the basis of their notorious stage act, which combines heavy beat-driven industrial metal with equal parts psychedelic performance art and live S&M sex show; check out our review of their seizure-inducing DVD Live in Sin, which offers a chaotic taste of their naughty onstage antics.
The band issued a statement last night on the official release date and the upcoming promotional tour, so keep reading, naughty boys and girls...
In this update, the band declared the album to be 'genre-defying' and 'the Genitorturers' best creation yet,' thanks to the production aid of Dave 'Rave' Ogilvie (whose production credits include Skinny Puppy, Killing Joke and Marilyn Manson) and Scott Humphrey (who has worked with Rob Zombie, Ozzy Osbourne and Motley Crüe) and the mixing & mastering skills of The Chop Shop.
'Beholden to no one other than ourselves... we went back to our roots, to what inspired us to play music,' frontwoman Gen declared on the band's press release, 'and based on the eclectic nature of each of our musical tastes, these roots ran deep and wide.'
Blackheart Revolution will hit the streets on November 3rd, but the accompanying tour will kick off earlier on October 24th, running all the way through November. More details coming soon!
