I'm not really sure if The Toxic Avenger needs a remake, but Nightmare on Elm Street didn't need one either, yet we got it. Nevertheless, the 1980s cult classic that launched Troma Films will get a remake, helmed by Steve Pink (Hot Tub Time Machine). More after the jump.
The new Toxic Avenger is supposed to be a more eco-conscious story, though the original wasn't too far off: a simple janitor is bullied and thrown into toxic waste, which transforms him into the Toxic Avenger, set to clean up New Jersey's scum - and the bad guys. "The Toxic Avenger is exactly what the country--wait, that's not big enough--what the world needs right now," said Pink.
