If we managed to fire up your craving for vintage Euro-horror tunes with our write-up of House at the Edge of the Dark – the most recent full-length album from cult instrumental act The Giallos Flame – then you're in for sweet relief, because the nostalgic creation of UK artist Ron Graham is back again with a new EP entitled Euro Slash, which hits the market today. Dig deeper to find out more... including how to get your own copy!
Euro Slash promises more of the Flame's complete retro-immersion experience that can best be described as a mash-up of everything you ever loved about the '70s & '80s-era music of John Carpenter, Goblin, Fabio Frizzi, Tangerine Dream and their peers – executed on vintage synthesizers and driven by thick, dirty drums. Track titles like “The Beyond” and “Milano Violenta” should tell you all you need to know about Graham's devotion to the lo-fi horror and poliziotteschi classics of yore.
The EP is available from indie label 2600 Recordings in a dual pack containing the 8-track CD and 2-track 7” vinyl edition, but take note it's a very limited run: only 250 copies have been pressed as of this writing, with each copy individually stamped and numbered. Fortunately, latecomers won't be entirely left out, since the EP is also downloadable through the 2600 Recordings website. Additional remixes and bonus tracks will be coming out soon via the label's upcoming “Giallo Podcast,” so be sure to check back soon.
