One of the most notorious and world-famous Halloween attractions, New Orleans' House of Shock, has booked equally infamous (and charmingly named) Louisiana black metallers Goatwhore to perform as part of this year's festivities. House of Shock has built a killer rep among fans of extreme horror and music alike, so it looks like we’re in for a match made in Hell. Lean more about this infernal event below the jump!
House of Shock was the diabolical creation of Pantera’s Philip Anselmo, along with Down keyboardist Ross Karpelman and Pantera roadies Jay Gracianette & Steven Joseph. Since its foundation 16 years ago, it has grown to become the most talked-about Halloween attraction in New Orleans, and nearly every year makes several top-ten lists of haunted attractions.
Also birthed in New Orleans, Goatwhore have amassed a cult following among fans of extreme metal, and released their fourth studio album Carving Out the Eyes of God to rave reviews this summer. Formed by frontman Sammy Duet, this wicked quartet’s often blatantly satanic themes and imagery fall right in line with House of Shock’s occult-oriented presentation, so they should be a perfect fit. The attraction will run every weekend in October beginning this Friday, but the band will only be performing on Halloween Night.
