Game developer High Voltage Software is shaping up to be the hardcore gamer savior on the Wii. Their upcoming The Conduit could be the FPS that finally eclipses Metroid Prime 3, and their just-announced Gladiator AD looks like some dismemberiffic fun.
Time to add another game to that list. IGN has just posted an interview with the developers regarding their third Wii title, the co-op horror shooter The Grinder. In it, players will take control of one of four characters to blast the living hell out of vampires, werewolves, and the undead (what, no aswang or skunk ape?) with up to three other friends. Basically it sounds like Left 4 Dead with waggle, which could be a very good thing, especially with promises of up to 65 on-screen enemies at a time which may not sound like much, but is huge for the Wii’s modest horsepower.
You can check out the full interview over at IGN, including a boatload of screenshots, some music track samples (described as 'Trent Reznor and Ennio Morricone in bar room fight after watching Dusk Till Dawn, Dawn of the Dead, An American Werewolf in London, and Tremors and doing copious shots of tequila.') and more vague info than you can shake a stick at. Guess we’ll have to wait ‘til E3 for some more juicy chunks of this one!
