GWAR Announce Massive New US Tour!

Dead-set on laying waste to every city they can find, GWAR have just proclaimed their next campaign of destruction, otherwise known as the "Return of the World Maggot" US tour. It's shaping up to be one of the band's biggest tours ever, covering three dozen US cities over a whirlwind six-week run. There's no stopping these guys, even after the official departure of bass player Beefcake the Mighty (aka Casey Orr) last week. GWAR front-beast Oderus Urungus had plenty to say (big surprise there) about their new mission, and you can read his typically subtle statement below...

The "Maggot" tour follows hot on the heels of a sold-out run through several headlining shows and festival performances in Europe and the upcoming annual "GWAR-B-Q" event in Richmond, VA. The band is hardly breaking stride before launching into the fall tour on October 18th in Charlotte, NC, rumbling across the country and back until their final show in New Haven, CT on November 27th. Supporting GWAR throughout the tour will be New York alt-metal group Every Time I Die, with additional openers Ghoul for the first half of the tour schedule and Warbeast for the remaining venues.

Oderus made his usual loud, disgusting proclamation about the event: "Once again we blow the mighty horn of war," he declared, "and summon the most fanatical fans in metal history to pay homage to their brutal overlords, us. Between holding Crack-a-Thons [and] having GWAR-B-Qs, you might think that your Lords and Masters had forgotten about you... but you won't get off that easy! GWAR is returning to personally slap the teeth out of your collective mouths, and have a great time while doing it!"

The complete list of venues will be posted soon on the band's official site, so stay tuned...
