Dust off those VHS players, The Ring franchise is about to return and it's gonna be comin' at ya in 3D. Hit the jump for full details. 

According to THR Heat Vision blog. the third entry in the series is being dubbed Ring 3D with David Loucka (Dream House) set to write. Original producers Walter Parkes and Laurie MacDonald are in negotiations to return. There is no director yet.

'The new film is being fashioned as more teen-centric than the first, and though the logline is being kept under wraps, the aim is to reinvent the franchise. One potential scenario involves teens finding a VHS player that still works.'
