The last time we checked in on deep-south experimental metallers Iwrestledabearonce, all five members were decked out in full black-metal corpse paint (see above), but that's nothing compared to their latest round in the makeup chair: the band is scheduled to premiere their first feature film A Beary Scary Movie during the annual Rock and Shock Film Festival this month, and they've given their fans – and haters, for that matter – the opportunity to see them get offed one by one, in classic slasher movie tradition. We've got the lowdown inside, so hit the jump and check it out!
"The time has finally come to watch us all get brutally murdered," announced IWABO guitarist Steven Bradley. "We are all huge horror movie fans, particularly old-school cheesy fun horror fans, so this project has definitely been the most insane and enjoyable undertaking in the history of our band." Directed by Justin Beasley of KOTK Productions, A Beary Scary Movie ("In 2D") is apparently a Nightmare on Elm Street parody, featuring all of the band members targeted by the evil "Shreddy," whom they describe as "something monstrous and mentally deranged from the '80s hair metal scene." Jake Busey also plays a small role in the film – no doubt a backhanded reference to the band's name, which comes from a quote by Jake's brother Gary (who will also be attending the festival).
Beary Scary premieres at Rock and Shock at the Palladium in Worcester, MA on October 14th. The band will also be doing meet-and-greets and signings over the fest weekend, along with fellow rocker Ace Frehley and horror celebs like Robert Englund, Kane Hodder, Bill Moseley, Lance Henriksen, Heather Langenkamp and many more.
