Japanese Tire Commercial May Be the Scariest Thing You've Seen All Year

The Japanese have their own version of a Bloody Mary-like character who goes by the name Kuchisake-onna - also known as, 'the Slit-Mouthed Woman.'  Legend has it that the woman was mutilated and killed by her own husband, her malicious spirit haunting Japan on a never-ending quest to carve up others the way she herself had her mouth slit from ear to ear.  The Slit-Mouthed Woman has been the subject of a few different horror films over the years, but it's a Japanese tire commercial that is exploring the legend this time around.

Though it's hard to say exactly what the message of the commercial is, given it's entirely in Japanese - and I don't speak or know a lick of Japanese - I'm assuming the idea is that this particular company's tires are so good that you'll have no problem escaping the evil spirit of the Slit-Mouthed Woman, even on a snowy day, if you were to come face-to-face with her while driving down the road.  But whatever the message is supposed to be, it's a brilliant commercial, one that packs more terror into 40 seconds than most horror films can pull off in two hours.
