The mastermind behind Gremlins and Gremlins 2, Joe Dante is the king of family monster fare.

Dante’s newest 3D release The Hole is finally seeing the light of day. It follows two brothers who discover a bottomless hole in their basement and unleash an unknown evil.

If you’re lucky enough to live in L.A. or the Atlanta area, you can see The Hole on the big screen beginning September 28. See the list where it’s playing below. The Hole is out on DVD, Blu-ray and VOD October 2, 2012.
