Sooo.. Leprechaun: Origins.  It’s Leprechaun, remade by WWE and starring Hornswoggle. In case you don’t know Hornswoggle, he’s the leprechaun professional wrestler.

Like most remakes/reboots today, this Leprechaun will have a darker edge. Crave online spoke to Michael Luisi, president of WWE Studios about the project.

“The tone is going to be a little darker, a little more traditional horror than the Warwick Davis ones that people remember, trying to find a way to please fans of that genre but at the same time this is really being played for scares,” Luisi said.

No definite word on whether Warwick Davis will make a return to the franchise, but Luisi said there may be a cameo. What I really want to know is if Jennifer Aniston will revisit the film.

I am trying to reserve judgment, but I don’t know how this remake can avoid campy elements. There’s no way around it, it’s about a murderous leprechaun who is played by a professional wrestler. That’s like camp squared.
